Inspired by the lush florals and lagoons of exotic islands, the organic beauty of tapa print, and the allure of traveling the South Seas Islands comes the Bali Hai Collection from Lorelei’s Vintage, featuring the art of Hula Hideaway. This collaboration named Royal Orchid celebrates the vintage sophistication of the Golden Age of Hawaiian Fashion. Coconut is a stunning tapa design in earthy wood tones with white orchids accented with jungle olive green evoking the hues of aged wood carved tikis, natural fibers of lauhala and bac bac and the organic texture of coconut husk. It is screen printed for us in Bali on a beautiful woven textured cotton I handpicked myself. The screen printing is done the same way it was done in the 1950's with individual screens done for each color and layer which adds a texture, depth and richness that is just not found on digital prints.
