Harry Decker of Hula Hideaway and myself have been collaborating over the past year creating a new collection of prints to produce styles in to launch throughout 2026. Harry is so talented and was incredible taking all the inspiration I had from my collection of vintage textiles and combining both of our love of vintage Hawaiiana, botanicals, art and even decor from both our home tiki bars and combining all of it into textile art that is completely authentic and original with references and nods to the past particularly the textiles and designs coming out of Hawaii in the 1950's.

Inspired by the lush florals and lagoons of the islands, the primitive beauty of tapa print and the allure of exotic travel to the South Seas Islands comes the Bali Hai Collection in Royal Orchid from Lorelei’s Vintage featuring the art of Hula Hideaway. Honoring the vintage elegance and sophistication of the  Golden Age of Hawaiian Fashion.

"A few people may already know about my design collaboration with Melanie Komenkul from Lorelei's Vintage. This is our first fabric design: "Royal Orchid" is the inaugural piece of our Bali Hai Collection, inspired by the master of vintage fabrics, Alfred Shaheen. It'll come in three unique colorways, two of which have started to pop up at various events such as Dapper Day, Hukilau, and Viva Las Vegas. More to come!To create a true vintage look that does justice to the unique style of Shaheen, I started by studying his old-school color and printing techniques. Our design approach aims to create designs as authentic as possible, so we developed a process that allows us to collaborate on many more fabric designs in the future! We just completed a photoshoot with Vestige Photography, so keep your eyes open for the results; they are fabulous!
